Random Lyrics

Your blue might be gray, Your less might be more, Your window to the world might be your own front door, Your shiniest day might come in the middle of the night!

ISFJ To Do List

-Beware of rescuing irresponsible, needy people. Get help in ending inappropriate relationships and situations.

-Talk to yourself in nurturing and caring ways. Pat yourself on the back. Don't wait for someone else to tell you that you did well.

-Honor your need for time alone. Schedule time for fun and personally satisfying activities.

-Allow room for mistakes.

-Talk about your needs, desires and problems with a trusted friend or counselor. Let others help you for a change.

-Take time to discover your direction, purpose, and goals. Make choices based on your inner values rather than on external authorities.

-Remember that there is no one right way to live. What counts is that you are satisfied.

-Beware of excessive worrying. Don't spend too much time focusing on worst-case scenarios.

-Avoid taking on extra work. Learn to say NO!

-Get mad once in a while. Unleash pent-up resentment through writing, talking or hitting pillows. You may feel guilty but you may also find it refreshing.

-Do not underestimate yourself and your accomplishments. Talk about them.

-Appreciate your strengths--being realistic, practical, conscientious, sensitive, sympathetic, loyal, friendly, super-dependable, and persevering.

ISFJ

Introverted Sensing Feeling Judging
by Marina Margaret Heiss

Profile: ISFJ
Revision: 3.1
Date of Revision: 20 Aug 2007

ISFJs are characterized above all by their desire to serve others, their "need to be needed." In extreme cases, this need is so strong that standard give-and-take relationships are deeply unsatisfying to them; however, most ISFJs find more than enough with which to occupy themselves within the framework of a normal life. (Since ISFJs, like all SJs, are very much bound by the prevailing social conventions, their form of "service" is likely to exclude any elements of moral or political controversy; they specialize in the local, the personal, and the practical.)

ISFJs are often unappreciated, at work, home, and play. Ironically, because they prove over and over that they can be relied on for their loyalty and unstinting, high-quality work, those around them often take them for granted--even take advantage of them. Admittedly, the problem is sometimes aggravated by the ISFJs themselves; for instance, they are notoriously bad at delegating ("If you want it done right, do it yourself"). And although they're hurt by being treated like doormats, they are often unwilling to toot their own horns about their accomplishments because they feel that although they deserve more credit than they're getting, it's somehow wrong to want any sort of reward for doing work (which is supposed to be a virtue in itself). (And as low-profile Is, their actions don't call attention to themselves as with charismatic Es.) Because of all of this, ISFJs are often overworked, and as a result may suffer from psychosomatic illnesses.

In the workplace, ISFJs are methodical and accurate workers, often with very good memories and unexpected analytic abilities; they are also good with people in small-group or one-on-one situations because of their patient and genuinely sympathetic approach to dealing with others. ISFJs make pleasant and reliable co-workers and exemplary employees, but tend to be harried and uncomfortable in supervisory roles. They are capable of forming strong loyalties, but these are personal rather than institutional loyalties; if someone they've bonded with in this way leaves the company, the ISFJ will leave with them, if given the option. Traditional careers for an ISFJ include: teaching, social work, most religious work, nursing, medicine (general practice only), clerical and and secretarial work of any kind, and some kinds of administrative careers.

While their work ethic is high on the ISFJ priority list, their families are the centers of their lives. ISFJs are extremely warm and demonstrative within the family circle--and often possessive of their loved ones, as well. When these include Es who want to socialize with the rest of the world, or self-contained ITs, the ISFJ must learn to adjust to these behaviors and not interpret them as rejection. Being SJs, they place a strong emphasis on conventional behavior (although, unlike STJs, they are usually as concerned with being "nice" as with strict propriety); if any of their nearest and dearest depart from the straight-and-narrow, it causes the ISFJ major embarrassment: the closer the relationship and the more public the act, the more intense the embarrassment (a fact which many of their teenage children take gleeful advantage of). Over time, however, ISFJs usually mellow, and learn to regard the culprits as harmless eccentrics :-). Needless to say, ISFJs take infinite trouble over meals, gifts, celebrations, etc., for their loved ones--although strong Js may tend to focus more on what the recipient should want rather than what they do want.

Like most Is, ISFJs have a few, close friends. They are extremely loyal to these, and are ready to provide emotional and practical support at a moment's notice. (However, like most Fs they hate confrontation; if you get into a fight, don't expect them to jump in after you. You can count on them, however, run and get the nearest authority figure.) Unlike with EPs, the older the friendship is, the more an ISFJ will value it. One ISFJ trait that is easily misunderstood by those who haven't known them long is that they are often unable to either hide or articulate any distress they may be feeling. For instance, an ISFJ child may be reproved for "sulking," the actual cause of which is a combination of physical illness plus misguided "good manners." An adult ISFJ may drive a (later ashamed) friend or SO into a fit of temper over the ISFJ's unexplained moodiness, only afterwards to explain about a death in the family they "didn't want to burden anyone with." Those close to ISFJs should learn to watch for the warning signs in these situations and take the initiative themselves to uncover the problem.

Score!

I've never been the type to have to have the top of the line clothing items, brand new off the rack. Matter of fact, no matter how much money I ever make, I will probably always be a HUGE fan of thrifty shopping like yard sales, ebay and CL.

Yesterday, was a success! While money is tight right now, I'm all about "previously worn items in excellent condition". I got a cute skirt on from a North sider for 5 bucks and also drove to Kimberling City and scored huge with 8 tops from Dress Barn and Lane Bryant. Easily, one of these tops would cost $25 bucks at one of these stores but I got all eight for $25, plus the cost of gas. I now have some more dressier items in my closet besides Tshirts and sweat pants.

I am back to ebaying it again. I might even start selling my crap on ebay again if I don't get any takers on CL. Every little bit helps and you can get some easy cash at these two places with relatively little work. I loved working night shifts in dispatch and browsing ebay all night for super deals. At one time, I would have a box arrive in the mail from a won auction 3-4 times a week. How fun that was!

She's Brilliant

I wrote the "Emily" in blue in the upper left corner.
Guess who wrote the other one with NO HELP!?!?

Ethan's way of getting back!

Ethan has learned something new.

Now when you get onto him or scold him for something, he throws his hands in the air, yells, then pulls his pants down. Then stands there calmly looking at me.

I guess I'm supposed to just be devastated!

haha!

A moment

I placed Emily on the list for pre school next year at Nixa Schools yesterday. I was so choked up, I could barely specify mornings or afternoons.

haha

Picture this:

Ethan freaking out in the middle of a tantrum that has lasted, what seems, for atleast an hour.

Finally, I'm fed up:
Me: "EMILY...ER...ETHAN....WANNA GO TO TIME OUT"?

Ethan: "Nooooooooooooooo" (really sounds like that too)

Me: "Then stop screaming"

Emily from the other room: "Emily no wanna go to time out either"!

Zero Time

Well, this little blog has been fun but it's going to have to go on the back burner for awhile. School takes up any free time I had from my already busy life style.

I will be posting from time to time but only short bursts. Matter of fact, think I'll come up with a new catagory called "Memory Bursts" for things I don't really have time to write about in detail but never want to forget. Maybe I'll get around to writing about them someday.

Even though it's challenging, I LOVE school. I'm having a great time"today", I regret not starting this part earlier. I may change that thought later but that's how I feel today.

Emily loves her speech sessions with Miss Sheila. If I'd let her, she could walk into school all by herself. ugh!
Ethan is TWO! And a loud two at that. Actually, he won't be two till Friday, but he's been ACTING TWO for about a month now. But, he's the most loving boy evah when he wants to be. He does fall down a lot. I don't remember Emily falling down as much as Ethan. His legs look hideous and his head never has less than two healing bruises occurring. Guess that's a part of it.

I got to see Luke yesterday. He was the most adorable smile ever! He is such a happy boy and it's obvious his mama is wonderful to him.

Ethan's party is Sunday. Have a lot to do but will post pics afterards.

Night night, will write when I can.

Finally, more teeth for Ethan

The boy who is taking forever to get teeth, has finally broke through another one.

That makes his tooth count at 12.

He is so miserable though. Thanks goodness for Ibuprofen.

Emily Loves Showers

Life just got a lot easier.

While in Kansas City last week, the kids had to take showers at our hotel because the place didn't have a tub (stand alone shower type setup)

Anyways....Emily loved it. And, has opted to take showers at home now too.

My back loves it!
