Yesterday was the employee picnic at Celebration City. Bert had to work it but I loaded the kids up and headed down about 3 pm. I thought it would be cooler around 4 pm but apparently, so did everyone else. It was really packed.
Ethan hung out in the stroller and Emily ran around having a good time. Bert held Ethan while Emily rode her own horse on the merry-go-round. This was the first time she even showed an interest in riding any rides. At the Springfield fair, she didn't want to ride it.
Then we walked around and looked at the other rides and she really wanted to ride the adult rides too. There was a swing/airplane ride and a water ride for bigger kids and adults and she was 9 kinds of mad that she couldn't ride those. She also liked that one ride that shoots you straight up in the air really really fast.
So we walked around and looked at everything. Shared an ice cream sandwich and got some dinner. They had the usual BarBQ type stuff to eat (hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, chips, beans, potato salad) but also grilled chicken. It was pretty good. Also canned Coke products and bottled water.
They also gave away free T shirts but we decided not to go seek those out.
When we left, we watched Lifeline take off and Emily liked that up until it actually lifted. That kind of freaked her out and I decided we might have been standing a little too close. By the time we got home though, she was ready to watch another helocopter take off.
Today, we are going to Hunter's birthday party. Kids will have fun and it's always good times to watch them all play together.
